Who We Are

My name is Jesse and I am a hobbyist maker. I have recently fallen in love with woodworking and have a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering.

My goal is to make heirloom quality furniture with some updated features to represent the new technology in our lives. The main problem I intend to tackle with this furniture is to plan for upgrades in the future. So often techy furniture will come with features that are out of date in 5 years because of the speed at which technology moves. This can be okay with some basic dorm furniture because you just hope it lasts 5 years. Heirloom furniture is something you hope to buy once and enjoy for the rest of your life. Then when you are old and ready to move on, you can pass it on to your favorite kid.

The challenge then, is to design furniture with upgrades in mind. A simple philosophy that any electronics included aren’t built into the furniture itself. The furniture should be able to function and be desirable without the technology included. That way the technology is the icing on the cake and not the melted ice-cream creating a sticky mess.
